SCHOOL POLICIES

 

Important Notice to Students: This document contains essential information about procedures for completing your course(s). Please read this document carefully to avoid any delay in obtaining your credit or license

Academy of Land Specialists, LLC (The Academy) is approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC), School Code #7806, renewal 12/31/2020 for the purpose of offering real estate related courses. In class courses offered by The Academy and approved by Georgia Real Estate Commission can be obtained from The Academy’s website, www.academyoflandspecialists.com, or by contacting a school administrator at info@academyoflandspecialists.com.

MISSION: Academy of Land Specialists is determined to consistently offer quality real estate education and affordable access to the professional tools needed for individuals to succeed in their real estate career. The Academy’s curriculum focuses on the skills necessary to compete in today's real estate sales, and land niche markets. In addition to the educational opportunities and certification exam prep courses, The Academy provides an extensive array of continuing education courses that are meaningful and geared to allow you to excel beyond your competitors. The following policies are designed to comply with state and regulatory agencies which govern real estate education and assist The Academy in providing appropriate course and licensure credit. Academy of Land Specialists reserves the right to update and administer current policies as necessary.

RECORD RETENTION:  Academy of Land Specialists (The Academy) will retain all records on file for a minimum of five years.  Each class shall have a sign-in sheet, course agenda, tests (as applicable), and course evaluations. Scores earned by a student shall be retained for a minimum of five years for all graded exercises and tests.  All documents are stored in a secure filing room and encrypted cloud filed online.  Grades and attendance shall be formatted in excel for quick access.  The Academy will remain in compliance with 520-2-02 as outlined by the Georgia Real Estate Commission.

COMPLETION CERTIFICATION: Upon completion of a course and/or required exam, certification shall be submitted electronically to the appropriate state agency. An electronic completion notice shall be sent to you from the school detailing your course credit for your own personal records and should not be sent to the state for any type of renewal or for the purpose of scheduling any exams. Students may not receive credit for a course taken within the previous calendar year. In the event the student needs a paper certificate for any reason they should notify the The Academy administrative office, info@academyoflandspecialists.com. Subsequent duplicate paper certificates may be obtained for a fee by contacting the office.

Make-up Policy:  There will be no make-up offered on continuing education courses.

ACCEPTANCE:  All students are accepted into the Academy of Land Specialists. All students must pay necessary tuition prior to the first day of the student’s applicable course. Subsequent students must adhere to all other school policies as outlined herein.

CANCELLATION:  In class course fees are non-refundable.

Refund Policy: In Class Course -  Once a student receives materials and/or attends a class session, Academy of Land Specialists will offer no refunds. However, if it becomes necessary for you to drop out of a course for any reason, we will allow you a credit in the amount of the course fee to be transferred towards the purchase of any future course offered through Academy of Land Specialist. 

ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS: Admission for all courses requiring state licensure is limited to students who are:

1. at least eighteen (18) years old; and

2. high school graduates (or holder of a general educational developmental equivalency diploma).

NOTE: State agencies may revise rules and regulations. Contact the school administrative office and/or individual state agency directly to verify license law information.

COMMISSION INVOLVEMENT:  Academy of Land Specialists will make all documents and materials available as required by the Georgia Real Estate Commission to applicable courses.  Any video or audio equipment is available to present such materials as needed.

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT: Students are expected and encouraged to participate in the organized classroom activities. Participation will enhance the learning experience and assist in providing direction to the instructor with regard to the class understanding of the subject matter. Students will also be expected to refrain from conversations with other students as such behavior can be distracting to the instructor and other students. Each student is making a financial sacrifice as well as a personal investment of their time to attend these classes.

COURSE MATERIALS:  Course text and reference materials will be prepared by the instructor utilizing various learning instruments: text books, handouts, audio-visual aids, transparencies, flip chart demos, technology apparatus, magazines, periodicals, legal briefs, newspaper articles, brochures, personal knowledge, experiences and additional resources as deemed necessary by Academy of Land Specialists.

STUDENT QUESTIONS: All questions pertaining to course registration: i.e. registration, discounts, school policies, exam appointments, certification, etc. should be addressed to the administration at The Academy. Questions regarding course content would be best directed to your course instructor. The Academy will be glad to assist any student. It is recommended that students email any questions, info@academyoflandspecialists.com, as this is monitored during and after regular office hours.

Online Courses

When should I contact my school?
Please contact your school administrator if you have questions about the following items:

– Course content
– Certificates
– Reporting to the state
– Course expiration

– Course extensions
– Obtaining CE credit
– Refund policy

When should I contact REcampus?
Please contact REcampus with any technical issues you may have with your course. You can contact REcampus Technical Support at 888.213.5124 or by email at REtechsupport@dearborn.com. All emails will be answered within 24 hours, including nights and weekends.

How do I create/edit my account?
From your school’s REcampus homepage, click on the “Log In” button. Then complete the “Create an Account” section on the right, and click on the “Submit” button.
To edit your profile, simply log in and click on the “myAccount” button in the navigation menu on the left.

I forgot my username and password information. How do I retrieve it?
To obtain your login information, please click here.

Is my credit card transaction/sale secure?
Yes. Secure Socket Layer (SSL), with the highest level of encryption available, is used to encrypt all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, address, and social security number, so that this information cannot be read as it is transmitted online. For all pages through which personal information is transmitted, SSL is used.

What are the system requirements? Can I take online courses from different computers?
Please refer to the system requirements to ensure the computer you are using is compatible. System requirements are available in the “Contact Us” section in the navigation menu on the left. You may take online real estate school courses from different computers if the computer you are using is compatible.

Once I register for an online course, can I start it immediately?
Yes. The online enrollment process includes credit card verification. In less than a minute, you are approved to start your desired online course(s). You will receive an email confirmation for your records, and you may begin the course immediately following registration or at any time you choose.

Must I complete the online course in one sitting, or can I log out and come back to it later?
Yes, you are able to log out of the online course and come back to it later if applicable in your jurisdiction. Please note that typically, you will need to complete online final exams (if applicable in your jurisdiction) in one sitting, however.

What do I do when I am done with a course?
While still logged in to your course, please refer to the “Course Completion Instructions” for specific details. “Course Completion Instructions” are located on the right side of your course homepage.

Does my enrollment expire after a certain period of time?
Yes, your online courses will expire according to your state regulatory agency. Most states allow for a 12-month enrollment; however, your state might have different regulations. Please refer to your enrollment confirmation email or contact your school to verify course availability and any other enrollment-related questions such as course extension.

I ordered a physical product through the online bookstore. How do I track my shipment?
Please email customer support at realestate@dearborn.com if you have questions regarding order shipment. Customer support is available from 9 am to 6 pm ET.

What is the refund/return policy for textbooks and CD-ROMs?
For refund/return policies, please refer to the Terms and Conditions policy.

RECampus course online – To receive a refund you must request it in writing within the first seven days of purchasing your course and not have advanced past unit one.  You must email your request to info@academyoflandspecialists.com

Any student who has a returned check due to insufficient funds or a closed account will be assessed a $30.00 charge by the School.
